can i become a chartered accountant with a degree in mechanical engineering? thank you. please help.?

can i become a chartered accountant with a degree in mechanical engineering? thank you. please help.?
my actual question is that - if i do a mechanical engineering bachelors degree in university but then decided to do chartered accountant course and try to become one and if i fail will i be still able to do mechanical engineering jobs with the bachelors degree that i have. will it be reasonable to expect 30000 pounds a year after three years working as a mechanical engineer thank you. please answer

If I was you I would look down the list of answers here - there has a been a load asked repeatedly by the same person asking the same thing..... it wasn't you was it? Different name, same question..... Yes you can be a chartered accountant having completed a degree in engineering, whether it is Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or Chemical. No it would not be reasonable to expect £30K after 3 years in the near future. £24K to £26K might be more realistic if you are good. Starting salary might be £20K. Again this question has been asked in the last week - read down the recent questions and you will get the answer that you asked before......
