Relevantly you need an hnc qualified to assess an accountants starting wage they can vary from 15,000 a year to 30,000 dependant on the employer and the levels of qualifications and expierence you may have assuming you stick at the career to aspire to be an accountant. Personally if you look at courses for colleges locally uni, and try looking at fitting something into your schedule if your working and want to do a part time course, also dependant on your income aswell.

Accountants generally have a bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance, although the degree is not strictly required. I've also worked with accountants who had degrees in Mathematic and Computer Science. There are associates degrees in accounting that will let you work as a Junior Accountant, Accounts Payable Clerk, or other lower wage accounting positions and work your way up to higher accounting positions. Junior positions start at around 30k. You can research how increased experience will effect wages by going to http://www.bls.gov (the government website of the Bureau of Labor and Statistics).
