Answer 1 :
One (or a few) "C" in HS won't affect your future, in the least. Just apply to any college that interest you and work hard. You'll do well.

But i'm pretty certain that this is just a foundation (level 4). In order for you to be a qualified accountant, you will need to be certified in either of the following: ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, ICAS or CIPFA . As an Accounting Technician, you are limited as to the types of jobs you can get. At the moment im in my second year at uni doing Acc & Finance. After completing this i will be eligible for exemptions to 8 or 9 ACCA papers. If all you want to be is an accounting technician, then the NVQ Level 4 is fine, however if you would like to become a chartered/management accountant, then you would have to apply for the ICAEW, ACCA, etc. I have a family member who is an ACCA certified accountant and they took all 15 ACCA papers without any exemptions. The UK govt website states {Starting salaries at foundation and intermediate levels can be around £14,000 to £18,000 a year. Once qualified to technician level, salaries can be up to £25,000.} However, once qualified in any of the ICAEW, ACCA, etc. and working as an auditor then the site states (Part-qualified salaries can be between £18,000 and £25,000 a year. Once qualified, earnings are usually around £30,000 to £45,000. Senior and management salaries can be between £50,000 and £70,000.} Good Luck!

Half a brain because it is such a dull and boring occupation.

If your degree is from a Uk university that is sufficient to register as a student with the ICAEW.
